Professional speaker Bernie De Souza has devised a winter workout for the brain in 2010. He wants people to slim down their thoughts and focus on one direction to get results.
“I help reshape people by reprogramming the mind and showing them what they do best and what they should be doing to make the most of their talents at work or at home.”
At events he fills the UK's biggest auditoriums showing audiences of all kinds how his profiling techniques point out the personalities behind masks we all build up as we are growing up and being shaped by the thoughts of others.
“It is easy to drift into jobs that don't suit simply because of circumstance or because we think that what we are doing is expected. It is so much better for people to discover hidden talents and grow them into something worthwhile and enjoyable.”
De Souza not only presents at large events showing his unique personal skills, he also operates one to one mentoring for individuals and businesses as well as on-line guidance for recruiters in search and selection in particular.
“I can tell from the moment I meet people what sort of personality they are and the best jobs for them. I know the sort of people they are inside as well as out and can demonstrate what works best for their personality type. I even know know for instance from the tone of their voice on the telephone what kind of personality I am dealing with. This is especially useful in the sales environment where people watching is important.”
He has cleverly combined motivational techniques he has built on since first becoming a professional physical trainer in the airforce over twenty years ago where he first encountered Olympians needing goal-setting and inspirational help.
He has built on these skills further after being one of the first in Britain to recognise the important of profiling techniques devised initially by his personal mentor Dr Robert Rohm who devised a process called Personality Insights. Many top sports teams and personalities have benefited in the past from his expertise and will do so as we approach the 2012 Olympics.
De Souza has added to the profiling system he is accredited to train after years of extensive research and experience as well as knowledge gleaned when he personally amassed a fortune in a sales and marketing business.
“It was here I learned that it was different strokes for different folks. The secret is discovering the various traits that go into the individual make-up and building on them. Target driven people for instance have an entirely different way of going about their lives than people who are people focused. Identifying differences is a skill I have developed and teach in order to find out the magic that lies deep within us all.”
Bernie De Souza is concentrating on public speaking in 2010 to raise awareness and is also running a speaker nursery to help fledgling motivationalists recognise that their experiences also have worth and need to be aired. He also supplies one to one coaching with his clients to help them develop into speakers at the many networking, business and community events which are increasing in popularity in recession.
“We all need to learn from each other and my skill is helping people recognise they have talents worth shouting about,” he said.
